the current administration in the United States is threatening to dismantle the Open Technology Fund - the most effective tool Congress has in the fight to safeguard the internet as a secure democratic space.
A few days ago the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM) that supports with funds the Open Tech Fund announced that they will stop supporting it. The Open Technology Fund is an independent non-profit that supports projects developing open and accessible technologies for the promotion of human rights and open societies, and helping advance safe access to global communications networks.
