Open Knowledge festival - 3-6 May 2018 @ Thessaloniki

Hello friends,
I just received this email from Open Knowledge foundation, and organization that has the same goals with us. I will be at the event propably and I would love to see there as many people I know as possible. Website:

Dear network members,

It seems a long time since we were last together at OKFest 2014 in Berlin but we are now excited to announce that, after a short spell of hibernation, OKFest 2018 will take place on 3-6 May 2018 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

The Open Knowledge Festival (known as OKFest) is the biggest gathering of the open knowledge community worldwide. Organised by Open Knowledge International and owned, in the broadest sense, by you, the open knowledge community, OKFest and its outcomes will be shaped by your active participation.

We hope many of you will make it to OKFest to share your skills and experiences and work together to build the very tools and partnerships that will further the power of openness as a positive force for change.

We’ll be asking for your help in making this our best ever event. This will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all that our movement has achieved so far, and all that lies before us. Watch the OKFest website and @OKFest on Twitter for updates and the latest information, and wait for the call for proposals to create your area in this community-driven event.

In the meantime:
* Get thinking – what do you want to see and how can you make it happen?
* Get doing – ask your friends and colleagues to join in, or arrange satellite events for those who can’t make it in person
* Get sharing – talk with people on Twitter (#OKFest18), at other Open Knowledge events, through our forum, on Facebook, and whenever you speak with people about open knowledge

See you in Thessaloniki!

Yours sincerely,
The Open Knowledge International Team

Hi Redon, do you want to subscribe to Debian-events-eu and FSFE discuss and send things like this there as well? This will increase exposure, people in those groups may forward it further too.

Hey Daniel, I think it’s rather difficult for us to be the messenger for these kind of things everywhere. Raising exposure of such news in the Albanian community is what Open Labs is about afterall so I think this is the right place. We can’t be everywhere as well.

@rskikuli Definitely planning to come. It’s quite a while until then, but good to have it in the back of our mind.

@pocock I just registered on the mailing list. Will cross post announcements that are related to this or the Debian list in the future. Thanks for sharing.
